Police: $800 painting stolen from District 304 offices

GENEVA – Police are searching for a painting worth about $800 that was stolen from Geneva School District 304’s administrative offices sometime between Sept. 23 and Oct. 10.

The owner of the painting, who was not identified, filed a police report Oct. 11 after several employees notified her that the painting had gone missing, the report states.

The painting was 4 feet by 3 feet in size, but the police report did not contain a more detailed description.

It was taken from the district’s administrative offices, now called the Coultrap Educational Services Center, 227 N. Fourth St.,
Geneva, and had been hanging on the south wall of the lunch room above some tables and chairs, the report states.

“The complainant was advised that there has been construction going on in the building with multiple contractors that could have taken the painting,” the report states.

Anyone with information may call the Geneva Police Department at 630-232-4736.
