While working on Kane County Chronicle reporter Nicole Weskerna's two-day series about vice in the Tri-Cities, which published yesterday and today, we thought it would be interesting to look at how much local high school dress codes have changed. We found some photos from Batavia High School, with girls dressed in skirts and blouses and boys in mostly dressy pants and button-up shirts.

This brought me to St. Charles North High School on a Friday afternoon, just as the final bell rang, dismissing students for the weekend. I noticed a lot of students were dressed in more casual jeans and sweatshirts. Not much different than when I was in high school, so long ago.
