State Rep. Kay Hatcher, R-Yorkville, issued the following news release:
State Representative Kay Hatcher has secured a coveted position on the House Healthcare Availability and Access Committee. Hatcher notes that the assignment is particularly timely as local families are trying to navigate Illinois’ new healthcare marketplace – Get Covered Illinois – and retired teachers and other state retirees are working to get more information on Illinois’ new Medicare Advantage plan offerings.
“This appointment couldn’t have come at a better time. Choosing a new healthcare plan is the most critical decision many local families and retirees will make this year, and my having a seat on the committee that deals with many of the details will help ensure their needs and concerns are part of the discussion,” Hatcher said.
To help provide as much information as possible to state retirees as the Medicare Advantage open enrollment period approaches, Representative Hatcher has scheduled an informational seminar for 9:30 a.m. November 21 at the Beecher Center, 908 Game Farm Road in Yorkville. Representatives from the Department of Central Management Services will make a presentation on the Medicare Advantage options for state retirees and will answer questions. Representatives from the specific plans that will be available in our area under the current Medicare Advantage contracts will also be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
