District 304 seeks public feedback at forum

Published: Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

GENEVA  – The Geneva School District 304 School Board will host a public forum at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Williamsburg Elementary School, 1812 Williamsburg Ave., to seek the public’s opinions and thoughts on various topics.

Approximately 20 minutes will be devoted to each of four topics, all-day kindergarten, communication, Common Core State Standards and additional feedback.

The district is considering all-day kindergarten.

It also recently redesigned its websites and launched a Twitter account and seeks thoughts or opinions on the district’s communication efforts.

Staff members are working to implement the state-adopted Common Core State Standards in a way that helps students learn more effectively, correlating with the district’s vision.

To ensure that all have time to share feedback, attendees should be prepared to limit remarks to approximately three minutes and record comments on prepared notes or provided note cards to ensure the board has an accurate record of all feedback.

For those unable to attend, this forum will be recorded and posted on both the district’s website and Channel 10.

Feedback may be provided by calling 630-463-3010 or sending email to board@geneva304.org.
