Warrant issued for St. Charles man in Geneva vehicle burglaries

A warrant has been issued for an 18-year-old St. Charles man in connection to several vehicle burglaries that occurred in July in Geneva.

Malibu Barstow, whose last known address was in the 600 block of Pheasant Trail, St. Charles, faces 10 counts of felony burglary charges and six criminal damage to property charges after damaging some of the vehicles.

According to court records, Barstow is accused of trying to break into several vehicles in the 800 block of Foxwood Circle, the 1000 block of Brentwood Place, the 800 block of Longmeadow Drive, the 1100 block of Hill Road and others. The vehicles were broken into on or around July 7, court documents state.

Barstow, who also faces two drug charges, is due in court today.

He was charged with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia in St. Charles on June 14, court records show.

Barstow previously was charged with residential burglary in Elgin, which occurred Oct. 28, 2012. Court records state that he intended to burglarize a home in the 1100 block of Championship Drive in Elgin.

Court records also show that Barstow was charged Oct. 31, 2012, in St. Charles for felony possession of the controlled substance Alprazolam, also known as Xanax.
