“Shrek the Musical” is set in a faraway kingdom, where an ogre named Shrek (Adam Burns) accepts a challenge from Lord Farquaad (Aidan Descourouez) to rescue Princess Fiona (Katie Bertness) from a tower prison in order to deliver her to Lord Farquaad, who wants Fiona as his bride. Having spent her life dreaming of being rescued by a prince, Princess Fiona is surprised to find that her suitor is an ogre. The talking Donkey (Jake Livingston) and a variety of fairy tale characters provide comedic relief to the story.
The production is under the direction of Dominic A. Cattero. The vocal director is John McClear; the choreographer is Tracy Adams; and the technical director is Mike Baglieri – a 2009 Batavia High School alum.
The pit orchestra, featuring 38 BHS students, is being directed by Ryan McCann.
