BATAVIA – Batavia MainStreet has teamed up with Batavia High School graphics design students to create seasonal banners that will be placed on light poles in downtown Batavia.

"We try to work as much as we can with community members," Batavia MainStreet Executive Director Joi Cuartero said. "This gives the students some real life experience and a little bit of pride for doing something for their downtown."

Students designed up to three banners to be displayed in the downtown in the spring, summer and fall in the 2014-2015 seasons. Winners will be chosen by a combination of Facebook likes and a judging committee.

Online voting via Facebook will end at 5 p.m. Monday. To vote, go to Batavia MainStreet's Facebook page and click on the album called “Banner Competition” and like the pictures to vote.
