Geneva Chamber to help collect donations for tornado victims

GENEVA – The Geneva Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Washington Chamber of Commerce to aid in collecting donations for the city of Washington, which is in need after a tornado swept through the community.

Items will be collected through Dec. 9 (with the exception of Nov. 28 and Nov. 29).

The dropoff will be between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 17 N. First St. A caravan will be delivering items to Washington on Dec. 11.

Items requested include toiletries, feminine products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, pain reliever, cold medicine, first-aid kits, hand sanitizer, sewing kits, baby wipes, diapers, baby formula, baby bottles, baby food, pack ‘n’ play, shoes, denture products, incontinence products, contact solution, reading glasses, plastic cups, plastic plates, plastic utensils, razors, pillows, blankets, extension cords, power strips, phone chargers, water, black markers, duct tape, pet food and gift cards to chain drug stores.
