Face Time with Dana Sanderson

St. Charles resident Dana Sanderson, 49, was volunteering at St. Mark’s Abundant Blessings Shop, Dine and Find at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Charles when she answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Stockton, Calif.

Pets? A bassett-labrador mix named Jack

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Katharine Hepburn

First job? Making popcorn in the mall

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A nurse. I became a mom instead.

A book you’d recommend? Anything in the Harry Potter series

Favorite charity? Soul Kitchen. It’s our Fourth Tuesday Community Supper from  5 to 7 p.m., a free meal, all made from scratch. It brings people together for for fellowship and mutual support. We’ve served about 2,000 people since we started it this year. 

What game show would you be on? “Wheel of Fortune”

Favorite local restaurant? Graham’s 318 Coffeehouse and Fresh D’Lite, both in Geneva.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I met Walter Cronkite and his wife on a helicopter pad in Seward, Alaska. They were getting off, and I was getting on. We were on vacation touring glaciers.
