Geneva man charged in domestic battery

GENEVA – A 21-year-old Geneva man was charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery following an incident Nov. 10, according to police reports.

According to reports, Stewart J. Stoffregen, of the 100 block of Logan Avenue, was in the shower for two hours, and at 5 a.m., his girlfriend went to check on him. According to reports, he became angry, hit her in the face, verbally abused her and knocked her down on the bed and pinned her wrists.

She went outside to call her mother, and while she was sitting outside on the curb, reports state, he kicked her in the side two or three more times and continued to abuse her verbally. Police said red marks and abrasions on the victim’s body were consistent with her description of what happened.

Court records show Stoffregen posted $300 bail to meet the $3,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 23.
