Broadview man charged in St. Charles home invasion
ST. CHARLES – A Broadview man is being held on $75,000 bond after police say he pushed his way into a St. Charles apartment and threatened a resident with a knife.
Marquis Walker, 26, of the 2100 block of 15th Avenue, Broadview, is being charged with home invasion, a Class X felony, criminal trespass to a residence, a Class 4 Felony, and aggravated assault, a Class A misdemeanor.
The St. Charles Police Department was called to the 100 block of South 17th Street on Monday for a report of a man who "pushed his way into an apartment after the victim opened the door," according to a news release from police.
Police said Walker, who was known to the residents of the apartment, pushed his way past the victim and started threatening the resident with a knife. No one reported any injuries related to the incident, and Walker fled on foot, police said.
Police searched the area, and later located and arrested Walker at a nearby apartment complex, states the release.
Walker appeared in bond court at the Kane County Judicial Center on Tuesday and was unable to post bail and was remanded into custody, police said.
