To the Editor:
The war on Christmas has taken many forms. The one that interests me is the name game.
What should the 12 days of Christmas now be identified as? Praying over this dilemma, reality set in.
“Merry Christmas” obviously is the natural base for Christians.
“Season’s Greetings” is a form that Jewish people and Islamists could be comfortable with, if offended by “Christmas.”
“Happy Holidays” already is an I.D. used by atheists, a recognition they have worked at achieving for years.
Language is a great determiner in society as to who you are, what you believe. Christians have not fared well in this realm. They have little experience and less spunk in social duals.
This will work well for me, and – not being shy – I shall utilize my discovery openly.
