The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Kane County until noon today. Snow is expected to continue until noon, with accumulation of 3 to 6 inches.

Snowfall rates are expected to total about a half-inch per hour. The advisory warns that there will be reduced visibility and snow-covered roads, "making travel slow and difficult."

"Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities," the advisory stated. "And use caution while driving."

Today's high is expected to be 30 degrees, with a low of 10. Temperatures are to remain at freezing or below for most of the week. But on Thursday, the forecast calls for a chance of rain and a high near 40.
