Where did you grow up? All over California, and then we moved to Illinois in 1970.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Anthony Edwards, the actor who played Dr. Green on “ER.”

First job? A stock boy at Oswald’s Pharmacy in Naperville while I was in high school.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? President. I did not become that. ... I work in computers. This is a part-time job.

A movie you’d recommend? “Galaxy Quest”

Favorite charity? Heifer International

Do you speak another language? German

Favorite local restaurant? The Early Light Café by the bike path in Geneva. They’re closed for the season now.
