• Police responded to the 400 block of 37th Avenue in St. Charles at about 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, for a John Deere bulldozer fully engulfed in flames. A 38-year-old Elgin man told police he was operating the equipment when he saw smoke coming into the driver’s cab area. Police reported the fire did not appear suspicious in nature.

• A leather bi-fold wallet was reported stolen Friday, Dec. 13, from a locked locker at XSport Fitness, 238 N. Randall Road, St. Charles, between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Because the lock was secure on the locker when the victim retrieved his belongings, he said he wasn’t aware of the stolen wallet until his credit card company alerted him of suspicious activity. In addition to credit cards, the wallet contained a debit card, $50, $75 in gift cards, a health savings card, a driver’s license and a FOID card.
