ST. CHARLES – Three motorists were arrested on charges of impaired driving during the St. Charles Police Department’s latest two-week traffic safety campaign, police said Monday in a news release.
In addition to the DUI arrests, police issued these citations: 18 for seat-belt violations; one for driving with a suspended or revoked license; three for driving without insurance; 10 for speeding; and four for other violations.
Officers also gave 40 warnings for various violations.
The enforcement period, which ended Sunday, was done in cooperation with and funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
It was part of a statewide program that aims to reduce the number of traffic fatalities.
