Aurora woman charged with theft in Batavia

BATAVIA – A woman who already had been convicted of a theft-related offense was charged with felony retail theft of items worth $36, according to police reports

Veronica M. Salinas, 32, of the 300 block of North Chestnut Street, Aurora, was charged Jan. 4 with retail theft from Menard’s, 300 N. Randall Road, Batavia, according to police reports. 

According to court records, Salinas was released after posting $300 bail, 10 percent of the $3,000 bond. She is to appear in court Wednesday. The charge carries a penalty of two to five years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
