Letter: The intelligent candidate

Published: Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

If I understand Walt Zlotow’s letter concerning Bruce Rauner’s candidacy for governor (Kane County Chronicle; Dec. 27, 2013), he is saying that anyone who is intelligent and has the interests of our state at heart (unlike our current governor) should not run for office because they are wealthy.

Actually, I think most people would want to vote for the candidate who is intelligent, has the well-being of the state at heart, is astute in handling financial matters and wants to establish term limits, thereby eliminating career politicians. He would be the best governor we have had in years!
