Face Time with Ben Westfall

Elburn resident Ben Westfall, 31, was giving lessons at Da Capo Music Studio in Elburn when he answered 10 questions from the Kane County Chronicle’s Al Lagattolla.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Ohio, in Piqua.

Do you have any pets? I have a dog named Joey and a cat named Boomer.

What was your first job? Paper boy

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was really little, I wanted to be an astronaut. Later on, it was a cowboy, and then later on a musician.

When did you start playing guitar? I was 12.

Do you have a favorite charity? We do a lot for charity. In the most recent charity event, we raised money for cystic fibrosis because we know somebody with cystic fibrosis.

What is your favorite local restaurant? Kountry Kettle

Is there a favorite song you like to play? “Blackbird”

What made you decide to be an instructor? We decided to open a studio because we didn’t feel like it was being done right. We wanted to do it the right way.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I have ridden my bicycle across the country east and west and north and south.
