ST. CHARLES – The city of St. Charles reminds residents that a snow route parking ban will be in effect when snow accumulations reach 2 inches. When snowfalls will reach at least 3 inches, a full citywide parking ban goes into effect for all city streets.

The police department will begin enforcing these parking regulations approximately one hour after the designated accumulations are reached, according to a news release. The bans are needed to allow plows to properly clear streets for the safety of all motorists.

“The parking ban is necessary to allow the plows to clear the streets with no obstructions,” St. Charles Police Cmdr. Erik Mahan said. “Motorists and emergency vehicles need to be able to navigate the streets safely.”

Snow routes are marked with blue signs. Information is available on the snow removal page of the City’s website – For information, call Mahan at 630-377-4435.
