ST. CHARLES – St. Charles officials are reminding residents that the snow route parking ban is in effect when snow accumulations reach 2 inches, according to a city news release.

Additionally, a full citywide parking ban goes into effect for all city streets once accumulations reach 3 inches.

The St. Charles Police Department will begin enforcing parking regulations about an hour after the designated accumulations are reached.

“The parking ban is necessary to allow the plows to clear the streets with no obstructions,” Police Cmdr. Erik Mahan said in the release. “Motorists and emergency vehicles need to be able to navigate the streets safely.”

Snow routes are marked with blue signs. Visit www.stcharlesil.gov or contact Mahan at 630-377-4435 for information.
