A weather system that initially threatened to dump 10 inches on the Chicago metro area petered out to a mere 4 inches Saturday afternoon in the St. Charles and Geneva area, a meteorologist said.
"The areas south of I-80 got it," said Jamie Enderlen, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service at its Romeoville office. "A low pressure system slid through Southern Illinois and Central Indiana [to] Southern Ontario."
Sunday will be dry with high temps in low teens in Kane County with temperatures at 10 below zero Sunday night, she said.
"The good part is we will not get the wind so the wind chills will be around the actual temperatures," Enderlen said. "It's looking like no more snow until Tuesday, across the area in the morning, coming to an end sometime Wednesday."
