ST. CHARLES – A car parked at a St. Charles restaurant last week sustained major damage in what authorities believe was an isolated case of vandalism, St. Charles police said.

A 2004 Mercedes-Benz CL500 was vandalized sometime between 2 p.m. Thursday and 12:30 a.m. Friday at Rookies, 1545 W. Main St., police said.

The car was reportedly parked on the south side of the bar when an employee discovered the damage.

St. Charles Police Department spokesperson Lisa Blackwell did not know the monetary value of the vandalism but said it included broken windows and body damage.

The extent of the vandalism was uncommon for St. Charles, she said, calling it an isolated incident.

Nothing inside the vehicle, which belonged to a restaurant employee, was reported stolen, Blackwell said.

Police are asking those with information to call the St. Charles Police Department at 630-377-4435 or the Drug and Crime Tip Line at 866-378-4267. Blackwell said callers can be anonymous if they call either number.
