GOP 65th District candidates headed to debate in Elgin

ELGIN – The Kane County Young Republicans will have a debate featuring candidates in the 65th State Representative race – Steve Andersson, Debbie Miller and Dan Ugaste.

The candidates will be running for the seat currently held by State Rep. Tim Schmitz, who is not seeking re-election. The event begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, 28 Brookside Drive, Elgin. The event is free and open to the public.

A reception starts at 7 p.m., with the debate starting at 7:30 p.m. Pizza and beverages will be served. The 65th District covers areas of Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, South Elgin, Elgin, Pingree Grove, Hampshire, and Huntley.
