Prep Roundup: Geneva girls basketball rolls

ELGIN – Janie McCloughan notched a double-double Wednesday while Sidney Santos almost had a triple-double. It all added up to a romp for the Geneva girls basketball team.

The Vikings defeated Larkin, 60-34, in an Upstate Eight Conference River Division game behind 16 points and 14 rebounds from McCloughan. Santos added nine points, eight assists and eight rebounds.

Geneva (18-5, 8-2 UEC River) is one game behind Batavia as it seeks its fourth straight UEC River title. The Vikings play at Elgin tonight before visiting St. Charles North on Saturday.

ACS girls hoops tops Mooseheart

MOOSEHEART – The Aurora Christian girls basketball team topped host Mooseheart, 67-34, to improve to 13-12.

Alyssa Andersen scored 16 points to lead the Eagles, while Kirsten Madsen added nine.

Kammie Kolb (eight points) and Rocio Sanchez (seven) paced the Red Ramblers.

Kaneland girls bowling falls

LISLE – Dominique Lee (498 series), Christie Crews (474) and Katie Hill (455) sparked a balanced attack for Kaneland, but it wasn’t quite enough in the Knights’ 2,226-2,191 loss to Lisle at Lisle Lanes.

Lee (184) edged Hill (183) for the team’s high-game honors. Both scores came in the team’s third game.
