Don Kramer, a Republican candidate for Kane County sheriff, announced his selection for undersheriff at a "Kramer for Sheriff" fundraiser Saturday.
Kramer introduced David Wagner, the current undersheriff of the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, as his choice for undersheriff, according to a news release.
Kramer stated that he worked with Wagner for more than 20 years and watched as he advanced from patrol officer to the rank of lieutenant and to the appointment of undersheriff, the release states.
“I considered both command staff at the sheriff’s office and leaders from other police departments and came to the conclusion that Dave Wagner shares the same goals and values as I do for the organization," Kramer said in the release.
Kramer also remarked that Wagner has already demonstrated that he is competent in administering the duties and responsibilities of undersheriff.
“Dave has the respect of the employees, is fair-minded, full of great ideas and is a man of his word,” Kramer said.
