St. Charles Rotary Club seeks scholarship applicants

ST. CHARLES – The Rotary Club of St. Charles is accepting scholarship applications through mid-March, the organization said in a news release.

An applicant must be a St. Charles-area high school graduate, have his or her GED or be a nontraditional student entering a college or university. Direct relatives of Rotarians are not eligible.

Candidates will be evaluated on financial need, community involvement, extracurricular activities, grade point average and cultural experience.

Applications are available in the “Download” section of the club’s website, and also by email at

Completed applications must be mailed to St. Charles Rotary Club, 609 S. Sixth Ave., St. Charles, IL 60174.

They must be postmarked no later than March 15 to be considered for review at the April 16 foundation board meeting.

Applications submitted after March 15 may be considered in fall 2014.

Only complete applications with a student transcript will be considered and reviewed.

Recipients will be notified by the St. Charles Rotary Foundation president or his designated representative.

They will be recognized during a Rotary meeting noon Thursday at The Office, 201 E. Main St., St. Charles.

The amount and number of scholarships awarded will be based on the availability of funds.

Scholarships are supported by fundraisers and voluntary contributions.
