ST. CHARLES – Prime Bistro in downtown St. Charles appears to have closed.
The restaurant, which opened last year in the former location of River Rockhouse, announced the closure on its Facebook page this week, just days after posting its
live weekend entertainment and a half-priced burger special.
“We would like to thank all of your [sic] for coming into Prime Bistro,” the Wednesday post states. “At this time we will be closing our doors.”
There was no indication of the closure on the building itself Friday morning, and a call to the building was unanswered.
Located at South Riverside and Walnut avenues, Prime Bistro had a soft opening in September.
Its menu included a variety of grass-fed burgers as well as chicken tenders, salads, sweet potato fries and flatbread pizzas.
The building previously was occupied by Chord on Blues, which opened in 1996 as a premier blues club.
Its name changed to River Rockhouse in spring 2012 when the owners decided to take the club in a new musical direction.
