Local students make deans' lists

Cornell College Dean’s List Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, has named 280 students to the dean’s list for the fall semester. Amanda Engel of St. Charles earned highest honors, and Hallie Koontz of Geneva earned high honors. A grade-point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale is required for the designation. Highest honors are granted to students with 4.0 averages; high honors are awarded to students with 3.8 to 3.99 averages.

Iowa State University Dean’s List Freshman Alyssa Buban of Geneva was acknowledged for her hard work and was named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at Iowa State University. She achieved a 3.93 grade-point average and is studying dietetics and nutrition. She is the daughter of Tony and Victoria Buban. Alyssa Buban graduated from Geneva High School in 2013.

Rochester Institute of Technology Dean’s List Leigh Bechet of Wayne was named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is a second-year student in the applied statistics program in RIT’s College of Science.
