Roundup: St. Charles East badminton loses to Naperville North

ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles East girls badminton team lost Wednesday’s home dual to Naperville North, 15-0.

East’s No. 3 doubles tandem of Shelby Patzner and Krupa Patel was defeated in three games. The Huskies swept each of the other matches.

Kaneland-BC softball postponed

MAPLE PARK – A highly anticipated softball game between Kaneland and Burlington Central scheduled for today has been postponed because of wet field conditions.

Wisconsin recruit Angie Morrow – a pitching standout – transferred from Burlington Central to Kaneland this year and was set to face her former teammates today in Maple Park.

Central coach Wade Maisto said he hopes the game will be rescheduled but no date was established as of Wednesday afternoon.

Cougars set radio broadcast schedule

GENEVA – Now hear this: All but six of the Kane County Cougars’ 140 Midwest League games will be broadcast live on WBIG 1280-AM this season.

Games scheduled for April 9, April 16, April 23, May 7, June 25 and Aug. 20 are slated to be carried only on kccougars.com. All other games are available on the online platform, as well.

St. Charles East alumnus Wayne Randazzo enters his third season in the booth for the Cougars, who open their second season as a Class-A Cubs affiliate at Quad Cities at 7 p.m. April 3.

The home opener is set for 6:30 p.m. April 8 against Fort Wayne.
