ST. CHARLES – Citizens are invited to offer comments about the St. Charles Police Department as it goes through its reaccreditation process, according to a news release issued Monday.
A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement are expected to arrive April 1 to examine all aspects of the department’s policies, procedures, management operations and support services.
The purpose of the team’s site visit is to verify that the St. Charles Police Department meets CALEA’s standards and is part of a voluntary process to gain reaccreditation.
As part of the on-site assessment, citizens may offer comments to the assessment team by calling 630-443-3719 between 1 and 3 p.m. April 2.
Comments should be limited to 10 minutes and address the police department’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. A copy of the standards is available at the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Department employees and community members also are invited to provide comments at a public information session at 6 p.m. April 2 in the department’s training room, which is accessible through Door 4. These comments also are limited to 10 minutes.
