ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles Police Department made three driving under the influence arrests during a five-day enforcement period that ended March 17, according to a news release issued Monday.
The safety campaign was done in cooperation with and funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The enforcement efforts netted three citations for seat belt violations; eight citations for speeding; and five citations for other violations. Officers also issued 15 warnings.
The initiative was part of a statewide program to reduce the number of traffic fatalities.
