Kane County Sheriff’s Office police reports

• About 280 gallons of diesel fuel were reported stolen Thursday, March 20, from a fuel tank on a truck that is parked in the 43W600 block of Prairie Street, Sugar Grove, when it isn’t in use. The theft is believed to have happened between Feb. 19 and Feb. 28.

• Jamal W. Abu Gheida, 18, of the 7N200 block of Hickory Lane, St. Charles, was charged Thursday, March 20, with two counts of domestic battery.

• A 6-foot-tall chain link fence was reported damaged Friday, March 21, in the 6N400 block of Illinois Street, St. Charles. A vehicle apparently drove through the fence between 11 p.m. Thursday, March 20, and 6:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, with such force that two of the steel fence posts were pulled out of the ground, cement footings and all. The vehicle also left tire ruts in the yard.

• A resident of the 39W600 block of Goldenrod Drive, St. Charles, reported Saturday, March 22, he was a victim of identity theft. He told police he filed his taxes on Wednesday, March 12, but they were rejected because his Social Security number had already been used.
