ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles Library Foundation – a nonprofit corporation established to provide funds to enhance and enrich library programs and services – will host a Books and Brunch fundraising event Saturday, April 26, at the Dunham Woods Riding Club, 33W333 Army Trail Road, Wayne.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Activities will include meeting local authors, a brunch and a chance to win one of the many raffle items donated by local businesses.

Local authors in attendance will include D.C. Brod, Doug Cumming, Roy Diblik, William Hazelgrove, Richard Holinger, Fran Manos, Jay Payleitner, Bruce Steinberg and Judith Testa. Books will be available for purchase, and authors will be available to sign copies at the event.

Funds raised at the Books and Brunch event will be used to support a new early-literacy interactive area for young children, their families and caregivers, states a news release.

“This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy brunch at the historic Dunham Woods Riding Club, as well as meet and mingle with fellow book lovers and local authors,” said Foundation President Roman Seckel in the release. “It’s a great way to support the library foundation and literacy.”

Tickets for Books and Brunch cost $40 a person and must be purchased in advance. Seating is limited.

To reserve a ticket, call Ginni Tsipas at 630-584-0076, ext. 230, or visit the library, located at One S. Sixth Ave. in St. Charles.
