Sugar Grove resident Doreen Scott, 78, was at the monthly meeting of the Elburn Seniors when she answered 12 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Grimsby, England

Pets? A rescue dog, a Yorkie mix named Oliver after Oliver Twist.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Maggie Smith

First job? Cutting ration coupon books during the war

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher. I became a nanny. A couple from St. Charles with four children hired me, and I stayed three years. And I still keep in touch with the children.

A book you’d recommend? Anything by Diane Chamberlain

Favorite charity? Disabled American Veterans

What game show would you be on? “Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?”

Do you play an instrument? Piano

Favorite local restaurant? Olive Garden in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? At 77, I swam with dolphins at the Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key, Fla. It was on my bucket list, and thanks to my two sons – one paid for it, and the other drove me down there – it was a joint effort Christmas present.

Anything else? I sang “Happy Trails to You” for Roy Rogers for our 25th wedding anniversary in Victorville, Calif.
