SUGAR GROVE – Job seekers are invited to Waubonsee Community College’s Spring Job and Internship Fair on Friday.
The job fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the college’s Academic and Professional Center on the Sugar Grove campus, located on Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. The event is free, and registration is not required.
Attendees can expect up to 80 employers there with full- and part-time job openings, said Kelli Sinclair, the college’s dean for counseling and student support. At least 14 of the businesses have internship opportunities as well.
“It looks like manufacturing and health care are well represented at this one,” Sinclair said.
Sinclair advises job seekers to download the full list of employers from www.waubonsee.edu/jobfairs. Researching the companies, dressing professionally, having plenty of resumes on hand and smiling during interviews are just some of the tips the college has for those who attend the fair.
Those looking to just update their resume or job search can go to the college’s Career Services department at the Sugar Grove campus before or after the fair. The department’s services are free and open to the public, Sinclair said.
The college will hold a Job Resource Fair on June 6 at its Plano campus and another job and internship fair Sept. 19 at its Aurora campus.
