ST. CHARLES – Local community celebrity chefs volunteered their time and talent to the 60 Men Who Cook competition – a fundraiser  presented by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce to benefit the Geneva History Center, Geneva Lions Club and Rotary Club of Geneva – on April 11 at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles.

Chefs created their favorite appetizer, side, entrée and dessert for the community.

In its 6th year, approximately 500 attendees tasted the samples and voted for a “Peoples’ Choice Award” in each of the four categories.

The winners by category are: • Best Appetizer – Brad Arnold (Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Bacon) of Edward Jones • Best Entrée – Nick Ninedorf (Texas Smoked Brisket) of Edward Jones • Best Side Dish – Martha Sanchez (Going for the Gold Corn) of State Street Jewelers • Best Dessert – Angelo Dangles (Baklava) of  Her Art Shoppe.

The Best of Show award was won – for the second year – by Matthew Hart of Hart Chiropractic for his Healthy Chicken Noodle Soup.
