ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles Police Department is investigating two residential burglaries that happened Wednesday morning on the city's west side, police said in a news release.

Police were called to the 1000 block of Crestwood Circle at about 9:10 a.m. after a resident discovered someone in her home, police said.

The intruder reportedly left in an unknown direction.

Another residential burglary was reported on that block during the course of the investigation, police said.

Forced entry was used to gain access in both cases, police said, and the incidents remain under investigation.

Police said Wednesday that the residents were still compiling a complete list of stolen items and that no suspect information was available.

Those with information about the burglaries or similar unreported incidents should contact the St. Charles Police Department at 630-377-4435.
