Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice Memorial Walk, Footprints group events set for May

GENEVA – Footprints, a bereavement program for parents and adult family members who are coping with a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death, will be presented by Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice.

The program begins on Monday, May 12, and meets at 6:30 p.m. Mondays through June 23, at the volunteer hospice, 200 Whitfield Drive, Geneva.

There is no cost to attend the program, but registration is required in advance. Spanish interpreters are available.

The Memorial Walk for families who are grieving the death of a baby will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd., Elgin.

All family members and friends are invited to a remembrance service and planting of a tree. Participants can bring a letter to the baby or a small article to place in the casket during the ceremony. After the ceremony, a continental breakfast will be served. The walk will take place regardless of weather.

There is no charge, but advanced registration is requested. For more information and to register for both programs, contact Carol Ann Richeson at 630-232-2233, ext. 224.
