Cougars postponed; play doubleheader today

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Wednesday’s game between the Cougars and host Cedar Rapids was postponed due to weather and will be made up today as part of a doubleheader consisting of a pair of seven-inning games.

Cougars right-hander Daury Torrez (3-0, 3.28) is set to get the call in the opener at 5 p.m.

Game 2 will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1, as Juan Paniagua (0-1, 5.17) starts for Kane County. Both games can be heard on AM-1280 and kccougars.com.

At 18-7, the Cougars enter play with the Midwest League’s best record. In 2013, the team did not register its 18th win until its 36th game.

After concluding the series today, the Cougars are set to return home Friday, beginning a six-game homestand against Burlington and Wisconsin.
