HINCKLEY – Aurora Central Catholic girls soccer coach Kristy Kane complemented Hinckley-Big Rock's "great speed and really talented seniors" after the host Royals defeated ACC, 2-0, in a 1A regional semifinal Tuesday.

That didn't mean Kane was lacking praise for her own team.

The youthful Chargers finished 8-6-2 in Kane's debut season at the helm after a stint at nearby Rosary.

"I think we surpassed expectations, for sure, and the kids really grew throughout the season," Kane said, "so I'm really proud of them."

ACC fell behind, 1-0, at halftime, but stayed afloat behind the playmaking of Jordyn Sundberg, who Kane said "always creates something."
