Prep Roundup: St. Francis softball triumphs over Rosary

AURORA – The Suburban Christian Conference Blue race isn't going the St. Francis softball team's way but the Spartans still stand by their season body of work.

The Spartans handled Rosary, 5-1, on Wednesday, running their record to 20-4 overall and 13-2 in SCC Blue play.

St. Francis' conference title hopes took a hit with a pair of recent losses to Montini, the lone conference team to defeat the Spartans this spring.

"We've had a good season," St. Francis coach Ralph Remus said. "We lost a lot from last year. I'm probably having a better record than I thought we'd have but … you always want to be a little better so we're still looking for some more here."

Ali Dittrich, Maggie Remus and Carly Pasquale had two hits each for St. Francis while Emma Chapman, the middle of three pitchers the Spartans used against the Royals, got the win.
