Northern Illinois Food Bank plans World Hunger Day volunteer event

GENEVA – World Hunger Day is Wednesday, May 28, offering an opportunity to learn about Northern Illinois Food Bank.

A special World Hunger Day volunteer event is set from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on that day, and those interested are invited to pack food at the Food Bank’s West Suburban Center, 273 Dearborn Court in Geneva. Participants will be able to learn about the innovative programs the Food Bank uses to help serve more than 60,000 people each week.

Representatives from the Food Bank’s Young Professionals Board, which offers opportunities to connect and network with professionals from the area while helping raise awareness about the issue of hunger in northern Illinois, will be on hand to share membership information. To register, visit www.SolveHungerToday.org/volunteer.
