Face Time with Kitty Wright

Bartlett resident Kitty Wright, 66, was shopping Fox River Harley-Davidson in St. Charles when she answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Montrose, California

Pets? A beagle-whippet named Rose, rescued from Anderson Animal Shelter, and a Pekinese named Lady Harley

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Hayley Mills

First job? Working at the snack bar at a grocery store

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A horse breeder. Instead, I worked for the American Red Cross Disaster Service in the Los Angeles office.

A book you’d recommend? “Grain Brain: The Surprising Truth about Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar – Your Brain’s Silent Killers” by David Perlmutter

Favorite charity? Lupus Foundation of America

Do you play an instrument? Guitar and piano

Favorite local restaurant? The Filling Station in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I met Amanda Blake who played Miss Kitty on “Gunsmoke.” The actor Glenn Strange, who played the bartender Sam Noonan at the Long Branch Saloon on the show, was my god-uncle.
