Face Time with Hayley Collins

Geneva resident Hayley Collins, 26, was at Old Mill Park in Geneva with her nephew Justin Collins, 5, of St. Charles when she answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Geneva and St. Charles. I went to Geneva High School for two years and then to St. Charles East, where I graduated in 2007.

First job? Baby-sitting and a paper route

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I had no idea, and I still don’t – but I write.

A book you’d recommend? “East of Eden” by John Steinbeck

Do you play an instrument? Violin, drums, and I’m learning guitar.

Favorite charity? Any that deal with youth homelessness

What game show would you be on? “Double Dare”

Favorite local restaurant? Sergio’s Cantina in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I play rugby on a women’s team called Fox Valley Vixens.
