St. Charles art show winners announced

ST. CHARLES – In a press release, the Downtown St. Charles Partnership on Friday announced the winners of last weekend's 16th annual St. Charles Fine Art Show.

The following artists won these awards:

• Best of show – W. Scott Wilson, painting.

• Awards of excellence – Debra Ehmann, digital art; Linda and Nathan Jones, jewelry; Taylor Mazer, drawing; Lawrence Oliverson, photography; Jack McLean, sculpture; and James Petran, painting.

• Judges awards – Michael George, sculpture; Andrew Andrasko, sculpture; and Samuel Yao, fiber.

An estimated 10,000 people attended the show, which took place in downtown St. Charles and featured more than 100 artists in various mediums.

The 2014 feature tent, "The Art of Fine Craft," showcased a variety of arts and crafts from Fine Line Creative Arts Center.

Other attractions included the Art Talk series, which featured six artists who discussed the inspiration and process of their work, and the downtown Trolley Tour, which gave people insight into the architecture of downtown landmark buildings and homes.

The art show was organized by a group of volunteers through the Downtown St. Charles Partnership. For information about upcoming events, downtown business promotions and specials, visit www.downtownstcharles.org.
