The Herrington names new executive chef

GENEVA – Atwater's at The Herrington Inn and Spa in Geneva has named a new executive chef.

Newly promoted executive chef Jeff Meyer already has adjusted the lunch and dinner menus at Atwater’s.

“This is an excellent venue with high standards and a talented team to lead," Meyer said in a news release issued by The Herrington. "We’re paying more attention to the finer details of our classic menu, and all possible ingredients are sourced from the region.”

Meyer has been part of Herrington’s culinary team for more than seven years. During that time, he’s prepared meals for notables such as Bill Cosby, Dennis Quaid and former Soviet statesman Mikhail Gorbachev, according to the release.

He earned his culinary degree at Robert Morris College, and went on to study in Florence, Italy.

“Graduating from an advanced culinary program, where I worked alongside other young chefs in Europe was living out a dream for me," he said. "Every day, we arrived early at the markets and carefully selected and negotiated pricing for the food we would prepare.”

Herrington General Manager Paul Ruby had praise for Meyer.

“Jeff has been a growing asset in our kitchen for a long time," Ruby said, according to the release. "He is ready to lead our culinary team, and he’s got some exciting plans for our menus and events.”
