ST. CHARLES – Kane County will host a free residential recycling and document shredding event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 14, at 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Items being collected for reuse or recycling include electronics, books, bikes and bike parts, sewing machines, mobility devices, fluorescent lamps, clothes, linens, backpacks, stuffed animals, carpet and carpet padding, latex paint and more. Latex paint has a recycling fee. Oil paint, hazardous waste and Styrofoam will not be collected.

Participants are urged not to bring periodicals or other paper that does not need to be shredded and can go in a household recycling bin.
