Sugar Grove Corn Boil seeks participants for 'Happy Dance'

SUGAR GROVE – The Sugar Grove Corn Boil Committee seeks participants to take part in the festival's opening ceremony by participating in the “Happy Dance” that takes place on Friday, July 25, at Sugar Grove Corn Boil Festival Grounds located behind John Shield Elementary School, 85 S. Main St., Sugar Grove.

The dance will begin after the parade procession at approximately 5:20 p.m. in front of the main stage area. Everyone is invited to join in the dance. The theme for this year’s opening ceremonies is “Kindness in the Community.” The Happy Dance can be learned by visiting www.sugargrovecornboil.org/entertainment/parade-opening-ceremony.  Jenny O’Brien of LaFox-based Dreams Dance Academy choreographed the "Happy Dance."

The dance will be led by Staley Da Bear, the Chicago Bears mascot. After the dance, the traditional opening ceremonies will commence and will include special guest speakers Jeff Bean, of Act on Bullying and Kaneland School District 302 Superintendent Jeff Schuler. For information about the opening ceremonies, send email to David.Paluch@sbcglobal.net or peakforkids@gmail.com. Visit www.sugargrovecornboil.org for more Corn Boil information.
