Corn Boil parade seeks participants

SUGAR GROVE – The Sugar Grove Corn Boil committee invites community groups to take part in the opening parade that takes place at 5 p.m., Friday, July 25, just before the official Corn Boil opening ceremonies.

The festival takes place near 61 Main St., Sugar Grove. Sugar Grove Community PTO groups, scout troops, police, fire, businesses, sports teams, cheerleaders, running clubs, elected officials, library personnel and clubs are invited to join the parade and wear their uniforms.

The most festive group will receive a special prize. Parade participants are welcome to hand out candy (but they may not throw candy). The parade will end in front of the main stage area. The opening ceremonies will commence at about 5:15 p.m.

Opening ceremonies will be kicked off with a “Happy Dance” – a line dance being done in celebration of "Kindness in the Community," the theme of this year’s Corn Boil. Bystanders are welcome to view and cheer on the parade all along Bastian Drive and feel free to follow the parade into the festival grounds to view the "Happy Dance." To join the parade, send email to David.Paluch@sbcglobal.net or peakforkids@gmail.com.
